Winter Transportation Information

As winter approaches, it is important that we prepare to deal with the weather conditions that may present problems in transporting your children.  Please be prepared for these winter transportation options.  These options include:

  1. Schools closed and buses not operating for the day.
  2. Buses operating the usual routes on a delayed time schedule (the normal pattern would be a two-hour delay).
  3. Use of one or all of the Snow Route Schedules.
  4. Buses operating the usual routes at the usual times.

This information would be provided to the following radio stations and television stations by 6:00 a.m. (unless an emergency situation develops later).  The radio stations that will be contacted are: KXPC/103.7FM, KFIR/720AM, KLOO/1340AM/106.3FM, KRKT/99.9FM/990AM, KGAL/1580AM, KEJO1240AM and participating television stations (KPTV, KGW, KOIN, KATU, KVAL, KMTR, KLSR and KEZI).  The information provided is also on the District website at under “school closure/news alerts”.  Parents may also subscribe to receive “FLASH ALERT” information via the website, as well as sign up for “SCHOOL MESSENGER” notifications.
