Wind Ensemble

This group of wind and percussion instrumentalists is our finest ensemble in wind music performance. Repertoire consists of outstanding band literature encompassing various styles and periods of music. The band presents numerous concerts throughout the year and participates in festivals. Members of the Wind Ensemble perform at all home varsity football games, three parades, and four varsity basketball games. ALL PERFORMANCES ARE REQUIRED.

Concert Band

Members of the Concert Band work on developing their basic skills in tone production, articulation, music reading, scales, and solo and ensemble performance. The band presents numerous concerts throughout the year and participates in festivals. Members of the Concert Band perform at all home varsity football games, three parades, and four varsity basketball games. ALL PERFORMANCES ARE REQUIRED.

Symphonic Band

Members of the Symphonic Band work on developing their basic skills in tone production, articulation, music reading, scales, and solo and ensemble performance. The band presents numerous concerts throughout the year and participates in festivals. Members of the Symphonic Band perform at all home varsity football games, three parades, and four varsity basketball games. ALL PERFORMANCES ARE REQUIRED.

Jazz Band

This group consists of saxophone, trumpet, trombone, keyboard, guitar, bass, and percussion players. This group provides opportunities for the performance of outstanding jazz literature, and the study of jazz styles, jazz history, and improvisation. The Jazz Band performs in numerous concerts and festivals throughout the year. Concurrent membership in either Wind Ensemble or Concert Band is required. This group meets every school day during Zero Period: 6:45 a.m. – 7:30 a.m. ALL PERFORMANCES ARE REQUIRED.

Honor Bands

Honor bands provide an outstanding opportunity for top students from around the state to rehearse and perform with their peers under the direction of some of the finest musical conductors in the nation.

  • WIBC Honor Bands
    Western International Band Clinic is comprised of four 150-piece honor bands, and is held annually in Seattle, WA.
  • Music In May Honor Groups
    Music In May is comprised of an Honor Band, Honor Choir, and Honor Orchestra.  It is held annually at Pacific University in Forest Grove, OR.

OMEA All-State Honor Groups – Oregon Music Educators Association has the following honor groups at their annual OMEA State Conference, in Eugene, OR: Choir, Orchestra, Jazz Band, Wind Symphony, and Symphonic Band.
