Good Morning Warriors!
Shout out to the LHS Leadership Team for helping with the Regional Lifeskills Prom yesterday. There were about 250 people from over 10 different schools. Everyone had a blast!
The GSA club will be hosting Luke Kawasaki today after school in room 417. Luke is an Outreach Case Manager with Jackson Street Youth Services and has a story relevant to the LGBTQ+ community. Please stop by Friday, February 21th after school in room 417 to hear Luke’s story and what the GSA Club is up to.
Spring Sports ONLINE Registration is now open. Come get the information from Mrs. Stolsig in the Athletics Office. You must be signed up by February 26. Don’t wait until the last minute, it can delay you getting your blue card in time for the first practice on Monday, March 2.
All boys interested in Tennis, meet in the Commons on Monday, Feb. 24 at 3 pm. Coach Burt will be there to meet with you.
Attention all softball players!!! If you have not filled out your online paperwork for participation this spring please see coach B in room 724. You must have this completed before you can tryout.
Attention all Advanced Placement students – This is the final week to make any changes to your AP testing plans. All payment and accommodation options should be finalized. If you have any questions please make an appointment with the Mister Bower in the school counseling center.
The Warrior JROTC Rifle Team are the 2020 Army JROTC National Champions! The last 16 of 50 Army teams finished competing at Camp Perry (Ohio) over the weekend so Lebanon’s two-day score of 4,320 edged out 2nd place Ozark High School from Missouri by 17 points. To give you an idea of the enormity of this achievement, there are over 1,700 Army JROTC programs across the United States! In the rifle team’s 11 year history, this is the 5th time the team has earned the title of Army JROTC National Champions! The other victorious years were 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2019. This year’s team members are Hailey Clevenger, Kate Slingluff, Carmella Martinez, Zoe Geoghegan and Kyler Boyce. Congratulations to the current and past team members for this outstanding achievement. Our next major challenge is March 17-22 at Camp Perry, Ohio, where the team will face off against the best teams from all JROTC services. Go Warriors and Go Army!
Are you stressed out? Do you need some techniques to manage your stress? Stress Busters is for you! Melissa Wilson, a Linn County Mental Health therapist, is offering a 6 week, weekly stress management class starting Tuesday, March 3rd during 6th period. In Stress Busters, students will identify stressors and responses and learn some useful tools to manage their stress. If you are interested in the class, please stop by the Counseling Center for more information.
The Samaritan Health Teen Support group for students who have a family member going through cancer treatments is still available. The last session on March 3rd. Stop by the Counseling Center for more information.
Musical Theater has 10 open slots for students interested in assisting off stage including running lights and sound. No previous experience is required! If this sounds like something you would like to do, please talk to your counselor.
Tennis Players – Open courts will continue throughout the month of February on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 3:15-5:00 (unless it is raining)
Track and Field – If you are interested talk to Mr. Eberhart room 714 or join us for pre season practice if not currently in a sport. Tuesdays and Thursdays 3:15-4:15 at the track.
Seniors: Make sure you get your registration form in for the Senior All Night Party before the April 1st deadline or the cost will go up.
Seniors: There are many scholarships that are available! Please stop by the College and Career Center and check out the scholarship station to see what you are qualified to apply for. Don’t miss out!
Do you need community service hours? Lacomb School is looking for student volunteers for their spring carnival coming up in April. Come to the main office for more information.
